EVERY TREE MATTERS

Through One Tree Planted's network of on-the-ground reforestation partners, MIP will help them fund tree- plantings in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa.

Some trees are planted by volunteers, some are planted by professional tree- planters, it all depends on the scale and goal of the project.

HOW IT WORKS

One Tree Planted pools the donations for each project and sends the funds to their reforestation partners. They vet their partners to ensure that they maintain a tree survival rate of 80-90%. 

Depending on the project, OTP partners choose the best tree species to plant and work with local communities to get them in the ground. Planting typically happens in the rainy season when the soil is wet and provides optimal conditions for tree survival.

Why are trees so important to the environment?

Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in one quarter of all medicines. Ever taken an Aspirin? It comes from the bark of a tree!
